1. Who we are

The Service is operated by the owner of PartyAxis.com, which acts as the primary controller of personal data described in this Policy (unless we tell you otherwise for a specific processing activity). For data protection enquiries, contact privacy@partyaxis.com (replace with your live mailbox). If applicable law requires a data protection officer, representative, or local contact in a particular region, publish those details here when appointed.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal data collected through the Service (including web forms, authentication, listings, newsletters, and support channels). It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control, including event organisers’ own sites or ticketing providers.

3. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account data: email address, password (stored using industry-standard hashing where applicable), role, and timestamps.
  • Listing & profile content: titles, descriptions, dates, locations, images or URLs you submit, visibility settings, and moderation history.
  • Newsletter & marketing: email address, subscription preferences, and consent records.
  • Technical & usage data: IP address, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, referring URLs, and diagnostic logs.
  • Communications: messages you send to us and related metadata.

We aim to collect personal data that is reasonably appropriate for the purposes below.

4. Purposes of use

We use personal data to:

  • provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service;
  • register accounts, authenticate users, and display Listings;
  • moderate content, enforce our Terms, and help prevent fraud and abuse;
  • send service-related messages (for example account or security notices) where appropriate;
  • send marketing where you have agreed or where the law allows;
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests;
  • understand how the Service is used (including aggregated statistics) and to plan improvements;
  • support ordinary business needs such as accounting, insurance, and corporate transactions (for example a merger), in line with this Policy and applicable law.

5. Consent and other bases

Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity (for example, certain marketing messages or non-essential cookies), we will obtain it separately and you may withdraw consent by contacting us, subject to reasonable notice periods and legal exceptions.

Where permitted by law, we may also rely on “legitimate interests” (for example keeping the Service secure, fixing bugs, measuring overall usage, or preventing fraud), balanced against your privacy rights. You may have the right to object to certain processing under local law.

We may also rely on other permitted grounds under applicable law (such as performing a contract with you or protecting vital interests).

6. Disclosure & recipients

We may disclose personal data to:

  • affiliates and group companies, where they help us run the Service under this Policy;
  • service providers (such as hosting, email, analytics, payments, fraud prevention, and security) who process data on our instructions;
  • professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers) when needed;
  • a buyer or successor if PartyAxis is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards;
  • law enforcement, regulators, or courts when the law requires it or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect people or the Service.

We do not sell personal data in the sense of selling bulk mailing lists to data brokers. Optional paid features or advertising may be offered in the future in line with this Policy and applicable law.

7. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, including while your account is open and for a reasonable time afterwards to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Some records are often kept longer (for example several years) where the law or good record-keeping practice suggests it. When we no longer need data, we delete or anonymise it where we can.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data. No website can promise perfect security; please use a strong password and be careful what you publish in public Listings.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete certain personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw marketing consent, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator.

To exercise rights, contact privacy@partyaxis.com. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, or otherwise within a reasonable period. Where the law allows, we may charge a small fee for repetitive or clearly excessive requests.

We may need to keep certain information despite a deletion request when the law, a court order, or a serious dispute requires it.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data appropriately, you may also contact a regulator where that right exists under local law.

10. Cookies & similar technologies

We and our partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies for essential operation (including session management where applicable), preferences, analytics, measurement, and security. Where required, we will obtain consent before using non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

11. Cross-border transfers

Our service providers may process or store data in countries other than your own. If your local law requires extra safeguards for international transfers (for example standard contractual clauses), we will use them where required.

12. Age restriction

The Service is not directed to individuals under 21. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 21.

13. Aggregated and de-identified data

We may create statistics or other information that does not identify you. We may use and share that aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, reporting, and to improve the Service, in accordance with applicable law.

14. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. Where the law requires more notice or consent, we will follow it. Continued use of the Service after an update normally means you accept the revised Policy, except where your local law says otherwise.

15. Contact & complaints

Privacy questions or requests: privacy@partyaxis.com

We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. If you remain unsatisfied and local law allows it, you may escalate to a regulator in your jurisdiction.

This Policy is a general-purpose template for an international website. It is not legal advice. A lawyer should adapt it to your products, cookies, advertising, vendors, and the countries where you have users.
